We’re excited to share that composer Héctor Armienta will be using innovative technology to create a virtual orchestra for the online premiere of
Mi Camino: The Pandemic Stories of Farmworkers, to complement the avatars and virtual worlds. Since we will not be hiring musicians, we’ve decided to create a Musician Challenge Grant.

All donations made before March 15 will go directly to our musicians, and Opera Cultura will match up to $1,000 in donations received.

  • Eligible musicians will include those who have worked with Opera Cultura before; musician must be in need of short-term, immediate financial assistance. If you meet these eligibility requirements, contact Natalie Herrera at natalie@operacultura.org to opt in to receiving a grant.
  • Grants in the amount of $200 per eligble person will be awarded on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • Funds will be disbursed to musicians after March 15.
  • If we raise more than $1,000, we will either increase the grant amount or distribute grants to additional eligible musicians with those funds (depending on how many musicians opt in).
