Guillermo Figueroa is Principal Conductor of The Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra & Chorus, Music Director of the Music in the Mountains Festival in Colorado and Music Director of the Lynn Philharmonia.
International appearances include the Toronto, Iceland, Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Chile and the National Symphony of Mexico. He has appeared with the orchestras of Detroit, New Jersey, Memphis, Phoenix and the New York City Ballet.
As violinist, he has received a LatinGrammy nomination. Figueroa was Concertmaster of the New York City Ballet, and a Founding Member and Concertmaster of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. As a violist, Figueroa performs frequently as guest of the Fine Arts, Emerson, American, and Amernet string quartets.
Figueroa has given world premieres of four violin concertos written for him: Concertino, Mario Davidovsky, with Orpheus; Double Concerto, Harold Farberman, with the American Symphony Orchestra; Violin Concerto, Miguel del Aguila, New Mexico Symphony, and Insula, Ernesto Cordero with Solisti di Zagreb.
