Art and Poetry Competitions Announced!

Opera Cultura is proud to announce new Art and Poetry Competitions, open to young artists. Participate in one or both entry categories: art and poetry/spoken word. Artwork or poetry entries will be inspired by one of the arias or texts from Mi Camino (Opera Cultura’s virtual production premiering June 11 and 13, 2021).
Opera Cultura is delighted to have local art judges Elba Raquel (local visual artist & teacher at Latino College Preparatory Academy) and Irene Carvajal (SJSU professor), and local poetry judges Janice Lobo Sapigao (Santa Clara County Poet Laureate), Joseph Navarro (SJSU professor), and Rosanna Alvarez (SJSU & De Anza professor) join us this year.
Dates: April 1st to May 1st, 2021.
Eligibility: Ages 16-22, U.S. citizen or resident. Latinx & Hispanic identifying young artists are encouraged to enter.
