The Visual Art Workshop is an extension of Opera Cultura's Art & Poetry Competitions with a $500 prize for each category winner!
The competitions run from April 1st to May 1st.

Open to local San José young adults and students (ages 16-22) with an interest in visual arts. Whether you are a novice or an expert, this is the workshop for anyone with a love and curiosity for the visual arts. Learn techniques, hone your skills, and find inspiration for your next piece/project.
Taught by local visual artist Elba Raquel, the Visual Art Workshop will be held online.
MORE ABOUT THE TEACHING ARTIST:
Elba Raquel has obtained an AS in Design, a BFA in Illustration, and an MA in Education. She is an Art Teacher at Latino College Preparatory, a freelance artist artist, and part of a mural performance group called Together We Create. Her freelance work is recognized by her bright colors and rhythmic compositions. Her illustrations and murals incorporate both 2-D and 3-D realms in a playful manner that she describes as “fantastic realism.”
